Why is no one in love with me, I’m so cool?
This trend is mostly a way for creators to post cool photos of themselves, either looking cool or doing cool things – it’s a way for them to use TikTok like Instagram but in a way the algorithm will pick up on and push out. Making it into a fun sort of sarcastic, self-deprecating trend of creators showing attractive photos of themselves, questioning why they aren’t in a relationship yet.

My Prime Outfit
The my prime outfit trend stems from people searching for outfits the algorithm thinks are their style, based on their saves and likes previously. From this people began searching for their ‘Prime Outfit’ once they’d found this they turn it into a transition, showing the image of the outfit, with them still in their pjs or comfy clothes, then transitioning into their ‘prime outfit’. Creators tend to do this trend in many ways, some are using it as a longer piece of content, showing them building the outfit whilst some show it as a shorter snapshot.

Pretty Little Liars, A
The pretty little liars A trend began by the cast themselves posting a quote signed off with ‘A’ like in the show. Creators then hopped on this quickly, by creating their own quote or caption and signing it off, 'A', although people took this in many different directions. A lot of the captions people have picked tend to be self-deprecating or a statement from someone as if they were watching them. The trend is bringing back nostalgia from the series, as well as allowing people to be humorous.
Can’t always be LA, someone has to hold it down in……
This trend began from the ADELA song ‘Ain’t in LA’, where creators then began making videos in iconic LA landmarks, or viral places using the song as a backing track to the visuals. It then shifted to creators mostly in the UK, using the trend as a way of stating where they are from, and that they are the landmark from the area, for example ‘Can’t always be in LA, someone has to hold it down in Nottingham’.
How I’d react if you told me you had….
The 'how I’d react' trend has many variations, with creators using the basic premise to show their reactions to something. Some of the captions being more controversial than others, it tends to be people acting disgusted then happy about the number and then back to disgusted. A lot of how creators have used this video is something personal to them and they interests, for example ‘how I’d react if someone told me they had this many lip products’, this is personal preference, therefore it can be used a way for people to reveal and discuss their controversial opinions.
Turning my Mum into me
Instead of doing typical get ready with me content, creators created a trend where they turn their parent, sister, or someone close to them into them. A lot of creators turned their mum into them, styling their hair, makeup and outfits like they would. This immediately went viral, due to a lot of the parents looking 30 years younger than they originally did, with people realizing how much styling effects peoples appearance.
Change the lighting in this photo
This trend heavily leans into nostalgia, showing multiple photos, starting with an image that is more recent. You then swipe through the images ending with an image of the person or people when they were younger, showing how they have changed and grown from the first image. Lots of creators joined in on this trend, as it has allowed them to reflect and look back at themselves and their friends and see how they have developed as people.
Be my own housewife
Off the back of Tate McRae song ‘housewife’ creators use the audio to show their success, and the idea that they do not need a man in their life to be successful, and have the life they desire. Sometimes using it as a transformation transition, showing where they started compared to what they have been able to build themselves.
